Editorial Standards

JAL Europe operates as an independent editorial publication covering commercial aviation, route economics, and the Europe–Asia travel corridor. These editorial standards govern how our small in-house team researches, writes, fact-checks, and maintains the articles published on www.jal-europe.com. We believe transparency about process is the foundation of trust between an editorial publication and its readers, particularly in an industry where marketing language frequently substitutes for analysis.

Editorial Team Composition

Our editorial desk consists of three full-time contributors with a combined background in route economics, destination reporting, and loyalty programme analysis. All published articles carry a named byline linking to the author’s archive page and biographical details. The editorial team operates independently of carriers, manufacturers, distribution platforms, and loyalty programme operators; we accept no sponsored content, paid placements, or guest contributions disguised as editorial.

Content Creation Workflow

Each article moves through a structured workflow: topic selection based on operational developments or reader interest, primary research using regulatory filings and industry data, draft preparation by a named author, internal review by a second editor, and final publication checks for accuracy, citations, and clarity. Our researchers consult publicly available IATA economic publications, EUROCONTROL operational reports, manufacturer announcements from Boeing and Airbus, and direct disclosures from carriers as the principal source material for factual claims.

Fact-Checking Methodology

Factual claims are verified against at least two independent sources before publication where the underlying information is not directly observable. Route statistics, fleet figures, and financial performance numbers are cross-checked against regulatory documents and manufacturer disclosures. Where industry forecasts or expert opinions are cited, we identify the publishing organisation and the date of the underlying analysis so readers can follow the citation chain themselves.

Review Schedule and Updates

Evergreen reference articles covering mileage programmes, route networks, and destination guides are reviewed on a quarterly cycle to verify that schedules, fares, programme rules, and operational details remain current. Time-sensitive news pieces are not retrospectively edited beyond corrections; instead a follow-up article is published when developments warrant. Breaking news affecting traveller safety or significant programme changes triggers immediate updates with a dated correction notice appended to the original article.

AI-Assisted Research Disclosure

We use AI tools to assist with background research, source aggregation, and language polishing during the drafting process. Every published article is read, verified, and signed off by a human editor before going live. AI-generated text is never published without human editorial review, and factual claims sourced through AI research are independently verified against primary sources. This hybrid workflow allows our small team to maintain comprehensive coverage without compromising on editorial accountability.
